Boston Redevelopment Authority is reviewing plans to purchase several buildings in Boston’s South End neighborhood including Boston Residential Groups plan to purchase 285 Columbus Avenue, the current home of the American Red Cross. BRG plans to build 63 luxury loft-style apartments in the 8 story building. BRG chief executive officer Curtis Kemeny says demolition to portions of the interior and façade will be necessary. The building is next to the Back Bay MBTA station.
